Gov't Mule
The Revolution Room
Little Rock, AR
05.03.07
Situated on President Clinton Avenue, the very cozy and intimate Revolution Room was treated to a sold out Gov't Mule show, the likes of which are easily remembered and hard to forget. Brand New Angel and Bad Little Doggie were the first two songs to hit ears and the About To Rage that followed was beyond description. Don't Step On The Grass Sam, featuring Farmer's cue card flipping technique was made all the better when Mississippi Queen appeared out of nowhere. I'll Be The One was loaded with many teases like Blue Sky and You Can't Always Get What You Want but the Slackjaw Jezebel that ended the set was worthy of ending a tour, not just the first set.
Set Two picked up at the same high point that the first left off at with Lola Leave Your Light On that drove straight into Mother Earth. World Gone Wild made a welcome appearance before Matt took the helm for Drums, yet Unring The Bell was so hard and satisfying that the street is being renamed to Lewinsky Way. Mule ended the set and the soaring classic Soulshine had all in attendance waving their hands and cigars skyward.
